The Second World War had drawn to a close. But, the Florentine company continues the technical research which began at the start of the war. Although, their research culminates in the development of the Luminor. Thus, this model characterizes itself by its crown-protecting bridge, with reinforced wire lugs created from the same block of steel as the case, its cushion-shaped case as in the Radiomir 1940 and also its flat and wider bezel.

Evolution from Radiomir to Luminor completed. In fact, as its name suggests, Luminor 1950 possesses a more vintage vibe than the contemporary style of the Luminor. Taking a closer look, Luminor 1950 comes with a curvier case than the older Luminor. Furthermore, the crown protector of the Luminor 1950 includes the REG. and TM engravings. Also, Luminor 1950 watches typically possesses a more exaggerated domed crystal protecting its dial. Also, these watches come equipped with an in-house movement.

The Movement – Panerai Caliber P.9000

The P.9000 caliber, created entirely by Officine Panerai and used also in a series of Luminor 1950 and Radiomir models. Although, this watch comes fitted with various functions like Self winding automatic calibre with a 3-day power reserve and also a unique technical design which makes these movements immediately recognizable. Moreover, this mecanism possesses a diameter of 13¾ lignes and also two barrels which guarantee its 72 hours of power reserve. Also it possesses a single piece rotor which winds in both directions thanks to an automatic ratchet device coupled with a balance wheel with adjusting screws. The oscillating frequency reaches 4 Hz.
