Nevertheless, Omega Watches association with James Bond movies dates since 1995. In fact, one of the main reasons for the switch to Omega Diver 300 M for the Bond franchise was a British Lady – Lindy Hemming – responsible for costumes and wardrobe for the new movies. At that time, she thought that the Seamaster looked the part of a rogue special operative who also needed the ability to dress up. Of course, she also recognized the history of Omega Seamaster in the British military (notably the Special Boat Service, synonymous with the character of Bond) which furthered her decision.

The Movement – Omega Caliber 2500

In the first place, this mechanism comes as a self-winding. Moreover, the Omega Caliber 2500 is based upon the ETA 2892-2.  Thus,  Caliber 2500 possesses 27 jewels as well as employing the revolutionary Co-Axial Escapement designed by George Daniels.  Although, the primary engineering advantage gained by this design becomes the great reduction of its friction feature. Thanks to this reduction in friction within the movement, the Caliber 2500 requires minimal lubrication. Additionally, the Caliber 2500 comes also equipped with a simplified regulating system called a free-sprung balance which greatly improves the timing precision of this COSC certified movement. Also, it reaches a 25.200 VPH frequency and a power reserve of approximately 48 hours.
